![]() ![]() | I am from the small town of Seymour, Tennessee and currently live in Knoxville, Tennessee. Growing up in the foothills of the Smokies is where I first learned to appreciate the beauty of the world around me. I began tinkering with photography in high school, but it was not until college that I decided to make art my life. I graduated from Carson-Newman College with a BA in photography. While at Carson-Newman, I received the annual visual arts award as well as many academic and art scholarships. I am currently a student at The University of Tennessee. I have an expected graduation in August 2010 at which time I will have a Masters in Art Education. I am currently student teaching and am absolutely thrilled that I get to share my love of art with students of all ages! I am actively involved in making art every day. I love photographing anything and everything. I never leave home without my camera. For the past 6 years, I have been a freelance photographer and graphic designer. During the summers, I teach a digital photography course for Walters State Community College. I love alternative photography processes, traditional, and digital photography. Most of my photography includes people or a narrative story of some kind. Photography has an uncanny power to evoke emotions and is a profound way of communicating without using words.
