Downtown Island Airport (DKX)

Downtown Island Airport (DKX) is a fixed-based operator (FBO) that is owned and operated by the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (MKAA). The airport is located 3 miles from downtown Knoxville and is open for operation from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. every day. DKX offers T-hangar, shade hangar, large community hangars and tie-down spaces for a monthly rent. In addition to aircraft rental space, the airport offers a unique opportunity to custom-build a personal “Condo” hangar with direct taxiway access. To learn more about the “Condo” hangar program, please contact R2 Construction at (865) 804-3066.

DKX has an array of services available for the patrons using the airport. There is a crew car available for use or rental car arrangements can be made by our staff. We also help to coordinate catering services or make hotel reservations for you.
